Halloween is pretty much upon us… in fact, with less than a week away, busy moms, I’m hearing your cry. Today, we’re getting ready for Halloween, and whether you’re planning a party with all of your friends, need a last-minute game to become the coolest car at the Trunk-or-Treat, or just want some post-Halloween boredom busters to burn off extra energy, this is the game plan for you.
You can start your game prep with a trip to your local CVS store, so you can stock up on 2 liters of Fanta Orange Soda— every game that I’m sharing today starts with these two liters, and they’re perfect for Halloween parties. Who doesn’t love that vibrant orange color? Plus, they’re perfect prizes for the games, and a great beverage to share during your party, too.
Now, if you live on the West Coast, there is an awesome deal right now with a “necker” coupon– if you see the coupon and pick up 2 of the Fanta Orange Soda 2 liters and a pumpkin, you’ll save a dollar. If you’re not on the West Coast, you may not have that deal, but I was able to stock up on Fanta Orange Soda for just about 75 cents a bottle using my CVS card, so you may find an awesome deal in your area, too!
Ring Toss
Ring toss is just one of those classic carnival games– you know the kind, where you grew up playing it at every school carnival and town festival. Luckily, it’s easy to re-create at home!
Supplies needed: 2 liters of Fanta Orange Soda, a round object for throwing (I used round cookie cutters, but glow stick bracelets and necklaces work well, as do shower curtain rings)
Prep time: About 30 seconds.
Perfect for: Block parties, trunk or treat, play at home
For this game, all you do is set up your bottles in a pyramid pattern, or any pattern you like, mark a line to stand behind, and toss the ring. To make it an all-ages game, you might consider larger rings for younger players, or different distance marks for different ages.
Sink the Cap
This game is simple– that’s what I love about it. If you can shoot a basket, or at least try, then you can play this game.
Supplies needed: One bottle cap (or more, if you’re allowing multiple tries), 10 cups, and prizes (optional)
Prep time: About a minute.
Perfect for: Block parties, trunk or treat, play at home, class parties
Place cups in a triangle on the floor, then mark lines for standing behind to toss the cap. Toss it carefully into the cup, with the goal being to land it IN the cup. Consider using a black permanent marker to set different point values to each cup, and offering prizes based on the number of points racked up– with the top prize being some Fanta Orange Soda, of course!
Cap Slide
Supplies needed: One bottle cap, a smooth surface, painter’s tape
Prep time: About three minutes.
Perfect for: Block parties, play at home, class parties
Using painters tape, mark goals on a smooth, flat surface (hardwood floors work well, but a board outside or tiles in a school classroom would also work). Players slide the cap across the floor, with the goal to land the cap inside one of the goals. Who can land it perfectly? Alternately, shake up the pattern and set up a pattern similar to ski ball, or a bullseye plan… the sky is the limit!
With a little imagination and innovation, there’s no limit to how you can use soda bottles to spark a fun time, whether it’s an impromptu party with friends and family, or a last-minute invite to participate in a Halloween event. These ideas, and some Fanta Orange Soda, will get the party started for sure! Plus, not only is it the perfect bottle to use for all kinds of party games, but it’s also a deliciously refreshing drink, with a blast of Orange flavor that is perfect for any Halloween celebration.

I love these!! It looks like our trick-or-treating might be getting rained out, so I just might have to do all these for some at home fun this weekend!
