I love a good Halloween party. You can probably tell, because I’ve been sharing a lot of my favorite Halloween treat ideas lately. You see, I look at Halloween as the first major “food holiday” of the fall season– a time to get together with family and friends and enjoy good conversation, and of course, delicious food. But nothing strikes my fancy quite like a sweet treat sort of party, a soiree meant for sweet tooths. And that’s why I really love the Halloween party I’m sharing today– it’s all about sweet treats, and even better, it’s all about gathering around for topping your sweet snack to satisfy your own taste buds! We’re talking a brownie pizza party… seriously.
Step 1 to throwing the perfect sweet treat pizza party? Stocking up on supplies. Start in the Seasonal section of your local Target store, where they’re keeping all of the best spooky sweets, like PEEPS® Brand Marshmallow, which comes in an awesome Target-exclusive variety pack. While you’re there, you’ll also want to snag other favorite sweets (like spooky candy eyeballs), some fresh fruit, and of course, the base of your sweet pizza…. brownies, cookies, and frosting! To make your brownie pizza, you’ll want two boxes of Betty Crocker™ Delight Supreme Original brownie mix for each 12 servings (or one pizza pan worth). For a thin-crust cookie pizza, you’ll want a box of Betty Crocker™ Yellow Cake mix. And of course, you can’t go wrong with Betty Crocker™ frosting to act as your pizza sauce. I went with some Chocolate and Vanilla, so everyone was happy!
Step 2 of the perfect Sweet Treat Pizza Party? Make your pizzas! To make a brownie pizza, you’ll want to follow the package directions for a 13×9 inch pan as listed on the back of the box, then spread it into a deep dish pizza pan. That’s 2 boxes of Betty Crocker™ Delights Supreme Original mix, plus the included packages of Hershey’s chocolate sauce, 1/2 a cup of water, and 1 cup vegetable oil. You’ll also mix in 2 eggs, then bake at 325 for about 40 minutes, or until the brownie pizza tests done.
The thin crust cookie pizza is a little bit more… inventive. Start with a box of Betty Crocker™ Super Moist Yellow Cake Mix, and add 2 eggs and a stick of melted butter… that’s it! You’ll get a thicker dough, much like, well, a cookie dough (imagine that!). Press the dough into a cookie sheet, then bake at 350 for about 15 minutes, or until the pizza is golden brown.
Step 3 is to prep your toppers. Cut the pizzas using a pizza cutter, and go ahead and peek inside of your PEEPS® Brand Marshmallow variety pack from the store– inside, you’ll find packages of all kinds of delightful peeps to use as pizza toppers, cupcake toppers, or, well, delicious treats to eat on their own.
Step 4 means it’s time to decorate. No, not the pizzas yet (hold your horses!), but the TABLE. I suggest a longer table, which allows more guests to move through, buffet style. You’ll want to leave spaces at various points where people can set their piece of pizza down to spread on frosting and add delicious toppers, like the adorable PEEPS® ghosts, tombstones, and chocolate kitties! Adding height to items by sticking upside-down bowls can help prevent too many hands reaching into the same place at once, and getting spooky and seasonal with decor can really set the mood of the party. A few signs also help guide the flow by helping guests know to frost, and then top, their pizzas.
Sweet treats aren’t just made for candy, so be sure to include plenty of other options, like fruit– kiwi, strawberries, and blueberries are good choices since they don’t brown, but any kind of seasonal fruit makes for a delicious choice on top of brownies and cookies!
Seasonal sprinkles and chocolate chips can also make fun additions to your pizza party bar.
If you’re hoping to ease the flow of traffic, consider setting up brownies and cookies on each side of the table, frosting just next to them, and placing toppers in the middle, so everyone works their way to the middle, and then out, allowing for two lanes of delicious fun!

- Betty Crocker™ Yellow Cake Mix
- 1 Egg
- 1 stick Butter, melted
- Betty Crocker™ frosting, PEEPS® Brand Marshmallow, fresh fruit for topping
- Combine cake mix, egg, and butter in a bowl until a thick dough forms.
- Gently press dough into greased round cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 for 15 minutes or until cookie is golden brown.
- Allow to cool before slicing into 12 pieces.
