Is anything better than a hot peppermint mocha at your favorite coffeeshop? Well, one thing I think is better is a hot peppermint mocha at home, especially one that takes almost no effort to make.
This peppermint mocha is crazy easy– you start with a basic cocoa mix, then add your peppermint, and pour a cup of coffee over the top of the mix. What else does it mean? That this can be made as a peppermint cocoa instead of a peppermint mocha, or made without peppermint to be a simple cocoa or mocha.
- 4 Cups powdered sugar
- 1 Cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 8 Cups powdered milk
- 2 Cups non-dairy powdered creamer
- 1 Pkg Andes Peppermint Crunch Baking Bits
- Brewed Coffee
- Mix powdered sugar, cocoa, sea salt, powdered milk, and creamer together in a large airtight container.
- Put 4 Tablespoons of cocoa mixture into a cup, and add 1 Tablespoon peppermint crunch baking bits.
- Brew 8 ounces of coffee over mixture in cup and stir until dissolved. Garnish and enjoy.
- Substitute boiling or hot water for coffee to make a peppermint cocoa, or omit peppermint crunch baking bits for a standard cocoa or mocha.
- This mix is very cute as a gift in a decorative jar!
But seriously, I’m obsessed with this– all you do is take 4 tablespoons of the mixture and 8 ounces of coffee, and that’s it.
What is your favorite coffeehouse drink? I have to say my wintertime favorite is definitely the peppermint mocha! If you want the perfect treat to go alongside this drink try these awesome peppermint brownie cake balls that are super similar to Starbucks Cake Pops!
Can the peppermint baking bits be mixed in to the powder and then stored.? I want to send this to an overseas relative and I want to make it easy for him.
Yes, you can absolutely mix the peppermint bits in. Just be aware they will melt into the drink rather than being on top of it– it’ll have a nice minty flavor! Enjoy.
Thank you! I think he’ll actually prefer the melted bits.
Do you think it would be too much peppermint if I used candy cane coffee instead of regular coffee?
A lot would depend on the strength of the peppermint flavor in the candy cane coffee, and in your personal tastes… if you try it, let me know how it turns out for you!
