Who’s your friend that likes to play? Who’s rocket makes you yell hooray?
BING BONG! I have to tell you, Bing Bong is one of my absolute favorite characters from Inside Out. He’s just so witty, and I won’t give any spoilers, but he clearly loves Riley and wants her to be okay, too. And that’s why I had to create a perfect mocktail that is great for sipping while you watch the movie, or for enjoying at Inside Out birthday parties, or really, anytime you need a special treat. Plus, since Bing Bong is part cotton candy, it has a nice portion of that in it, too!
Start by placing a little bit of pink cotton candy in champagne flutes or any other glasses you’d like. Plastic works really well with kids! You can, of course, use any color or flavor of cotton candy you like, but I chose to use pink to match Bing Bong! You’ll want to fill the cotton candy to the top of the glass. I used store-bought cotton candy that I found in the candy section of my local store, but if you know a cotton candy maker or have a machine of your own, that will also work!
Next, simply pour your favorite lemon-lime soda into the glass. The cotton candy will melt, and turn the clear soda into a brilliant pink color!
Check out that bright pink beauty! This drink would also be great for so many non-Inside Out events… like baby showers, or blue and pink ones for a gender reveal party, birthday parties using any color of cotton candy, and more. But I have to love how much these remind me of Bing Bong!
Now, serve while bubbly and enjoy! It’s perfect because this is only two ingredients and it’s completely non-alcoholic, so it’s safe for all ages to enjoy. I like to do the big reveal in front of whoever is enjoying the drink: the magic is in pouring the lemon lime soda over the cotton candy and watching it disappear, while turning the soda a new, fun color.
Cotton candy will dissolve in any liquid, so you can also try swapping out other clear sodas– like club soda– or even light colored juice if you avoid soda.
Who is your favorite Inside Out Character? I love Bing Bong, but if we’re talking emotions, Disgust is totally my kind of emotion! Let me know your favorite in the comments below, and don’t forget to check out the Memory Spheres craft that I shared Monday. Be sure to come back Friday to check out the Inside Out emotions cupcakes I’ll be sharing, too!
This is SO clever! Cotton candy is my girls’ favorite treat of all time, I definitely need to make these drinks for them
