I cannot believe Jeffrey is starting high school this year. While he’s still homeschooled, many of his friends, and our exchange student, are in public school, which means when school lets out around 3:00, our house becomes the social hub as all of his friends come over. It means we need snacks, LOTS of snacks, to satisfy the insatiable study group we have around our house these days. Luckily, I’ve come up with a foolproof snack that everyone loves. And, if you’ve got a Snack Hack using FarmRich and Walmart Fresh items, you could actually win $10,000, so keep reading and share YOUR back-to-school Snack Hack. Mine snack hack? Delicious barbecue chicken skewers with creamy ranch dip. With only 4 ingredients plus some herbs and spices you probably have on hand, it’s the perfect recipe for snack time.
The best snacks start at Walmart, with a FarmRich product found in the freezer section, and a Walmart Fresh item. While there are tons of great choices– mozzarella sticks, pepperoni pizzeria bites, jalapeno poppers and more– you’ll want to select the Boneless BBQ Chicken Bites for this recipe. From the Walmart Fresh section, you’ll need carrot chips (the thinly cut circle carrots) and celery.
The FarmRich Boneless Barbecue Chicken Bites are bits of delicious white meat chicken, breaded, and a sweet barbecue sauce packet you can coat the chicken with.
To start this snack hack, you’ll want to put your boneless chicken bites in the oven and cook them according to package directions. While they cook, you can start your delicious dip, which is made from Greek Yogurt and a few common herbs you’ve probably already got in your spice cabinet. A cup of Plain Greek Yogurt is the best place to start.
Mix in 1 Tablespoon of onion powder and 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder.
Also add in a Tablespoon of dried parsley, 1/4 teaspoon of dill weed, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
Give it a good stir, then pop it into the refrigerator until your chicken skewers are done and you’re ready to serve.
Wash your Walmart fresh items and cut your celery into bite sized pieces.
When your FarmRich chicken comes out of the oven, place it in a medium bowl or a zip-closure bag.
Pour the enclosed packet of sauce over the chicken.
Then, toss’n’sauce your chicken! Discard any leftover sauce after you’re done coating the chicken.
On a wooden skewer, assemble celery, carrots, chicken, celery, carrots, chicken until you reach the end of the skewer, finishing with either celery or carrots to hold the chicken in place.
Serve the skewers with the ranch yogurt dip– it’s enough to serve 4 hungry teens, but if you’re making snacks for a larger crowd, you can definitely supplement with other delicious FarmRich snacks!
We especially love the breaded mushrooms and pepperoni pizzeria bites!
The ranch yogurt dip can also be paired with the breaded mushrooms or other great FarmRich snacks, but with the barbecue chicken skewers, they’re a match made in heaven!
